Dr Zahrah Maka is a highly experienced GP with a strong background in both hospital and community medicine. Born and raised in Bahrain, she moved to Ireland in 2007 to study at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, graduating in 2012.
She began her medical career in clinical oncology, working in both Ireland and the UK before returning to complete her specialist training as a General Practitioner. Her broad hospital experience includes paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, palliative care, and internal medicine.
Dr Maka has special interests in chronic disease management, women’s health & menopause, paediatrics, preventative medicine, and lifestyle medicine. She is trained in long-acting reversible contraception (LARC), joint injections, and dermatology, and is currently helping to develop both an acne clinic and a weight-loss programme at our practice.
Outside of medicine, Dr Maka is a proud mum of three. She enjoys reading, cooking, and baking in her free time.
